Samuel Jason Leifheit, 40, of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at his residence. He was born May 8, 1970 in Gallipolis, son of the late Russell H. Leifheit and Pearl Elliott Leifheit, who survives him. He was married on September 9, 1995 in Gallia County to Kimberly Boster and she survives him. Sam was a 1989 graduate of Kyger Creek High School and was employed at General Mills, Wellston, Ohio. He was a member of Central Christian Church and Jackson Elks Lodge. He was an avid Ohio State fan, enjoyed cooking and deer hunting with family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Kimberly Leifheit of Jackson; his mother, Pearl Leifheit of Gallipolis; a sister, Stephanie J. Leifheit of Ellicott City, Maryland; three aunts, Joyce L. (Greg Mantor) Browning of Columbus, Florence (Nathan) Clay of Gallipolis, and Eileen Elliott of Newcomerstown; four uncles, Emmett (Eleanor) Elliott of Gallipolis, Carroll K. Elliott of New Philadelphia, James D. (Sharon) Elliott of Dover, Charles V. (Jeannie) Elliott of New Philadelphia; mother-in-law and fathers-in-law, Anna L. and James Clyde Day of Bidwell and Ronald Boster of Thurman; a sister-in-law, Angela Halley of Bidwell; several other loving aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his father, Russell Leifheit in 2000, he was preceded in death by an uncle, Leroy Elliott and an aunt, Vivian Benson. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Minister Denny Coburn officiating. Burial will follow in Rife Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, November 19, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Mike Reese, David Wellman, Chad Johnson, John Sipple, Rob Gilmore, Chris Elliott, Monty Elliott, and Zach Taylor.
