Sharon M. Blood

November 7, 1962 — August 23, 2025

Gallipolis, Ohio

Sharon Marie (Johnson, McGinnis) Blood, 62, passed away on August 23, 2025, at her residence in Gallipolis, Ohio after suffering a lengthy illness. Sharon was born on November 7, 1962, at Holzer Hospital in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Alva E. Johnson II and Sharlet J. (Runyon Johnson) White. Sharon was a 1983 Gallia Academy High School graduate where she enjoyed marching band and show choir. She was also a 2012 and a 2013 Gallipolis Career College Graduate where she received her Associate Degree in business administration, her junior accounting degree, computer applications technology degree, and major in technical support specialist.

Sharon took great joy in taking care of her two children; they were her absolute pride and joy. She was always on the sidelines cheering them on. It didn’t matter if it were basketball, soccer, cheer, or a band competition, she was one of the loudest mommas out there! Other than her own kids, she found herself loving and supporting a lot of their friends as well. It didn’t matter if they needed a place to stay, a meal for the night, or just someone to talk to, they were always welcome in her home. She seemed to have a mothering heart for all who needed her.

In her free time, Sharon loved to craft anything from wood crafting, to flower arrangements, sewing, even cake decorating. It gave her such joy knowing that both of her children picked up her crafting and baking skills. She always enjoyed doing projects with her children. There was never a dull moment in the house or even or cake design that wasn’t able to be created with the three of them around. Sharon was known to share her love in all that she did from creating beautiful gifts to delicious treats. She was also able to sprinkle that love into preparing and making cakes at Kroger’s Bakery, as well as filling tiny tummies with food that she helped prepare as a school cook at Gallia City Schools and Local School Districts. Sharon also expressed her love of making floral arrangements at Walmart's Floral department. She loved seeing her customers' faces when they were presented with their Colorful Masterpieces by Sharon. After her journey in making colorful works of art, she pursued and followed her degree course by becoming a Tax Preparer at Jackson Hewitt. However, none of this speaks to the volumes of how much she loved everyone as if they were her own. Therefore, she will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her.

Sharon was preceded in death by both her parents, Alva E. Johnson II and Sharlet White, as well as a stepdad, Johnny C. White. Sharon was also preceded in death by both her maternal grandparents, Shirley Runyon and Marie (Legg Runyon) Cummings and her paternal grandparents, Alva E. Johnson Sr. and Marjorie B. (Boyles) Johnson. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, John F. Johnson and Bobby J. White; a nephew, Andrew S. Johnson.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
