Shellia June Atha, 74, of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia, formerly of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. Shellia was born on March 5, 1951 in Huntington, West Virginia, Daughter of the late Charles P. and Maggie M. Jeffers Freeman.
Shellia had operated a day care in Gallipolis for several years. She is survived by one daughter, Amanda Rhodes of Vinton. Ohio and one son Chris Atha of Huntington, West Virginia; grandchildren, Bailey (Morgan) Rhodes of Vinton, Mason and Bentley Rhodes of Vinton, Gabriel, Matthew, and Michael Atha all of Huntington, West Virginia; great grandchildren Oaklee Marie and Brooks Everett Rhodes; her siblings, Ruthie Freeman of Crown City, Ohio, Lucille Freeman of Gallipolis, and Jeannie Clonch of Cheshire, Ohio; and a dear sister-in-law Maudie Freeman of Little Rock, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shellia was preceded in death by a sister Ella Riggs and by a brother Charles Freeman.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Swan Creek Cemetery with Pastor George Horner officiating.
