Shirley Joy Watson

Shirley Joy Watson, 66, of Gallipolis, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Holzer Medical Center. She was born April 26, 1944 in Gallia County, Ohio, daughter of the late Meriett and Pauline Neal Sanders. Shirley was married to Virgil R. 'Boob' Watson and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1991. She was a homemaker and a member of Elizabeth Chapel Church. Surviving are her daughters, Paula Tony Nolan of Gallipolis, Tammy Timmy Brumfield of Patriot; a son, Virgil R. Tonia Watson II of Bidwell, a son-in-law, Russ Rose of Gallipolis; eight grandchildren, Brandon Nolan, Brady Nolan, Shane Brumfield, Jacob Brumfield, Trey Watson, Troy Watson, Kegan Rose and Shaylee Rose; three great grandchildren, Breanna Nolan, Aaron Nolan and Evan Nolan; five sisters, Idell Fowler and Sharon Church, both of Gallipolis, Carolyn John Beaver of Mercerville, Jeannie Hollis Watson of Rio Grande, Jackie Sanders of Gallipolis; two brothers, Meriell Judy Sanders of Portsmouth and John Sharon Sanders of Gallipolis; several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Virgil R. 'Boob' Watson, a daughter Lori Watson Rose on April 4, 2010, a brother Clyde P. Sanders, a nephew Dallas Watson and nieces Loreda Cummons and Cathy Dawn Sanders. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Carnes and Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 6-9 p.m. Pallbearers will be Virgil Watson II, Tony Nolan, Timmy Brumfield, Brandon Nolan, Brady Nolan, and John Sanders.
