Terry E. Cremeens, age 76, of Mercerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 18, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, WV.
Born on May 15, 1949, Terry was the son of the late J.E. "Dick" Cremeens and M. Darlene (Myers) Cremeens. He graduated from Hannan Trace High School in 1967. On October 14 of that same year, he married the love of his life, Brenda (Hutton) Cremeens.
Terry served his country in the U.S. Army and was a faithful member of Mercerville Baptist Church. He retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center and later retired from Gallia County Local Schools as a bus driver.
A devoted farmer, Terry raised tobacco, sheep, and goats, and found joy in gardening. He also dedicated over 20 years to coaching youth in baseball, basketball, and football, making a lasting impact on the community. Above all, Terry cherished his family. He was a constant presence in the lives of his grandchildren, proudly supporting them in all their sporting events. He was known by many as “Pawpaw” and will be remembered as one of the best.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Cremeens, and two sons: Bradley (Tanya) Cremeens and Brett (Julie) Cremeens. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Alyssa (Bailey Walker), Noah, Chanee (Jacob Wells), Gracyn, and Bayler and a great-grandfather to Brinlee Ann. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Bonnie Hutton; and his brother, Larry Cremeens.
Pallbearers will be Noah Cremeens, Bailey Walker, Jacob Wells, Mike Beaver, Todd Boothe, and Jamie Chevalier. Honorary pallbearers will be Jene Myers and Rick Clary.
Visitation will be held at Willis Funeral Home on Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at Willis Funeral Home on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with graveside services to follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Military rites will be given at the cemetery by the Gallia County Funeral Detail.
