Thelma Puckett, 91, of the Mercerville Community, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Holzer Senior Care Center. She was born July 28, 1924 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Eura E. and Verba Saunders Wallace. Thelma married Stewart “Studie” Puckett on February 26, 1944 in Northup, Ohio and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2002. She was a 1943 graduate of Mercerville High School and a retired cook from Hannan Trace Schools. Thelma was a member of Mercerville Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Roger L. (Linda) Puckett of Bidwell; a daughter, Sharon F. (Doug) Pugh of Crown City; four grandchildren, Daron (Shellie) Puckett of Gallipolis, Tricia (Todd) Reed of Marshallville, Ohio, Amy Marie (Bill) Graves of Lancaster, Ohio and Amber Dawn (Chris) McComas of Crown City; 10 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Thelma was preceded in death by brothers, Russell, Oral and Dillard Wallace and sisters Delma King, Audrey Mullins and Vivian Moore. Services will 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastors Troy Delaney and Berkley Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
