Thelma R. Reese

Thelma R. Reese, 93, of Thurman, Ohio, formerly of Cheshire, Ohio, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at her residence.

Born on March 22, 1932 in Letart Falls, Ohio, Thelma was the daughter of the late Ray and Rose Howard McDade. Thelma married Herman Roush Reese on June 3, 1950; and they were married for 68 years. Herman preceded her in death on April 13, 2019. She graduated from Racine High School, retired from Robbins & Myers, and was a member of Cheshire Baptist Church. Thelma loved her family and friends, traveling, and her pets. Thelma traveled to Jerusalem and other international locations with her friend, Mary Lou Swisher and her sister-in-law, Loretta McDade. As a woman of strong faith, Thelma loved to study the Bible.

Thelma is survived by her son, H. Thomas "Tom" (Judie) Reese of Thurman, Ohio; daughter, Rosalie (David) Durbin of Gallipolis, Ohio; grandchildren, Ashley (Kevin) McClanahan, Colby (Chelsea) Reese, Cory (Lauren) Miller, and Natalie (Jordan) Reash; great-grandchildren, Kate Reese, Kyndall McClanahan, Ben Reese, Kaden McClanahan, Josie Miller, William Reash, and Margot Reash; brothers, Ron (Loretta) McDade of Athens, Ohio and Don (Linda) McDade of Cheshire, Ohio; and several loved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Herman, Thelma was preceded in death by three sisters, Norma Wilson, Oma Arnott, and Wilma McGraw.

Private family services will be held with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating; burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery.
