Thelma Irene Sibley, age 92, went home to be with her Lord and savior at her residence on July 26, 2025.
She was born on July 22, 1933 in Gallia County to the late William Buss and Virginia McQuaid Cromlish. She married Carl L. Sibley on February 2, 1968, who passed away on October 20, 2013.
In her younger years, she attended Gallia Academy High School. She worked at GC Murphy, Bob Evans Drive In, Milstead's Bakery, and Holzer Clinic. She loved her family with all of her heart, and we all loved her even more. Out of all her accomplishments in life, her biggest and best was when she gave her heart to Jesus on August 11, 2024 and shared her testimony with all of us. We sure are going to miss her texts every day.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Jim) Harrison; sons Jack Caldwell (Lisa Hammond), Todd (Amy) Sibley, Rick (Bonnie) Sibley, and Larry Sibley; sisters Hilda (Raymond Dale) Sanders and Corena Saunders; grandchildren Melissa (Barry) Call- whom she thought of as a loving daughter-, Josiah (Becky) Harrison, Danielle (Zach) Sanders, Jamie (Amanda) Caldwell, Matthew (Rena) Caldwell, Kim Baylous, Melissa Sibley, Scotty Sibley, Tara (Robbie) Adkins, Jennifer (Jason) Pelfrey, Tessa (Keith) Roberts, Mick (Alyssa) Sibley, Brittany (Tyler) Barry, and Rickey Sibley; 21 great-grandchildren; as well as 4 great-great-grandchildren. Thelma was eagerly awaiting the arrival of two more great-great-granddaughters.
In addition to her parents and husband, Thelma was preceded in death by brothers Larry Cromlish and Roger Cromlish, and her sister, Josephine Beaver.
A 1:00 p.m. graveside service will be held to honor Thelma on Friday August 1, 2025 at Mt Zion Cemetery in Crown City, Ohio with Pastor David Hopkins officiating.
Pallbearers will be her loving grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Harrison and Barry Call.
