Tom Reed

Thomas Millard Reed, affectionately known as “Tom” or “Tommy,” of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at the age of 79. Son of the late Jerome and Ruby Colley Reed, Tom was born in Switzer, West Virginia on February 18, 1947.

Tom grew up in a coal camp in Earling, West Virginia, proudly served his country in the United States Army, and made Gallipolis, Ohio, his home for more than 50 years.

Tom worked in the coal mines and the trucking industry. He enjoyed Cincinnati Reds games, countless miles on his Harley, the friendship and camaraderie of fellow American Legion members, and time spent with the family and friends that he so loved over the years. His memory will live on in our hearts.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Ruby (Colley) Reed and brother, Jerry Reed. He is survived by his two children, Tammy Cremeans (Dean) and Thomas “TJ” Reed; eight grandchildren – Shawn Reed, Kelsey Young, Ebony Rabsatt, Kaysey Scott, Dustin Cremeans, Alex Livingston, TJ Reed, & Collin Reed; and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his beloved sister, Debbie Elliot (Don) of Mudsoc; his brother, Donald Reed of Utica, Michigan; and his former spouse, Joann Reed.

Though his journey on this earth has ended, the memories he made and the love he gave will ride on forever.

A gathering of family and friends for Tom will be held at Willis Funeral Home on Thursday, October 22, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
