Vallie Belle Smith

Vallie Belle (Cox) Smith, 80, of Gallipolis, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at her residence. She was born December 17, 1936 in Charleston, WV, daughter of the late Matthew and Vallie Mae Jaques. Vallie Belle was preceded in death by two husbands, Everett Cox on May 9, 1990 and Charles (Mike) Smith on September 30, 2001. Also preceding her in death were one granddaughter, Belinda “Benji” Jaques, one great granddaughter, Aurora Mollett, and half brother Eddie Elliott. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Gabriel “Howard” and Rhonda Jaques, Judy and Chester McGuire, Iris and Wayne Davis, Amber and Chuck Blankenship, all of Gallipolis; seven grandchildren, Howard “Scott” Jaques, Ronald “Ron Jr.” (Crystal) Davis, Natasha (Chris) Edwards, Chester “Little Chet” McGuire, Cheyenne McGuire, Robert (Sydney) Mollett, Gerald “David” Mollett; seven great grandchildren, Emileigh Walters, Kyleigh Edwards, Zayden Edwards, Samuel Dust, Makayla Mollett, Damon Mollett, Lola Mollett; one brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Jean Jaques of Camden, Ohio; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Bob Wells of Huntington, WV; one stepsister, Ermie Meddley of Charleston, WV; a special friend, G.G. Griggs; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor J.R. Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, January 6, 2017 at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Ronald Davis Jr., Chester McGuire, Gerald David Mollett, Robert Wells, Kevin Wells, Rick Elliott, and Jeremy Legg.
