Van S. Johnson, 51, of Gallipolis, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. He was born June 20, 1966 in Pontiac, Michigan, son of the late June Alfred Johnson and Connie Cline Spina, who survives him. Van loved spending time with his family, watching movies, cars, his sister’s cooking and music. When he was younger he loved playing basketball. Surviving in addition to his mother and stepfather, Connie and Don Spina of Naples, Florida are his children, Connie Rebecca Johnson, Vanna Johnson, Jordan Johnson, all of Gallipolis and Vanity Johnson of Chesapeake, Ohio; two grandchildren, Nadia Johnson and Robert Smith Jr.; stepchildren,Vernina Russell and Wade Beard; brothers and sister, June A. Johnson Jr. of Lavonia, Michigan, Tammy Matthews Johnson of Dublin, Ohio, and Steven Johnson of Crown City. Services will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Willis Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Victory Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
