Vera Iris Small

Vera Iris (Pinkerman) Small- loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother. Vera grew up in Gallia County in Southern Ohio. She was one of six children of Elva and Hillis Pinkerman. She was preceded in death by her mother Elva, her father Hillis, her brother Jennings, her sister Betty Gates, her brother Charles, her sisters Gerry DeWitt and Adele Ashley, and her daughter Jackie Amlin. She is survived by her husband Jackie Small, her daughter Sandy Mowery, her son Michael Small, her five grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, and a great great-granddaughter. She worked at Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and retired from the hospital after 33 years of service.

The funeral service for Vera will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Willis Funeral Home with Michael Wise and Harold Mowery officiating. Her burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Friends and family may call Thursday prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
