Virginia P. Kirby

Virginia P. Kirby, 78, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She was born on April 24, 1939 inGallia County, Ohio, daughter of the late Sherman and Alice Hatfield Rutan. Virginia was active in the Gallia County Senior Citizens, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking. Virginia was married to Edward L. Kirby and he preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by two daughters Brenda (Charles) Weaver and Darlene Pugh (Steven Reynolds) both of Gallipolis, and by three sons Dennis Kirby (Christina Adkins), Edward Lee Junior Kirby, and Sherman “Mike” (Elizabeth) Kirby all of Gallipolis, 15 Grandchildren, and 32 Great Grandchildren, two sisters Sharon Russell of Vinton and Dianna Nibert of Gallipolis, one brother Lee (Linda) Rutan of Bidwell and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson Derek Kirby and by two sisters Helen Green and Irene Roberts. Services will be 1 pm Monday, November 27, 2017 at Willis Funeral with Pastor Randy Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery.
