Virginia Stapleton, 90, of Crown City, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 at her home on Peters Branch Road. Virginia was born on October 5, 1935 in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of the late Cecil and Delta Phillips.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Stapleton on January 15, 2002; an infant daughter, her daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Doug Martin; a granddaughter Wenona Martin.
Virginia is survived by her children and their families, Son, Allan (Lois) Stapleton; grandchildren, Terry (Kristie) Stapleton, Nick Stapleton, and Amanda (Brady) Swain; Daughter, Betty (Jeff) Belcher; grandchildren, David (Dana) Stapleton, Mitch Waugh, Sarah Johnson, and Trey Belcher; daughter and caretaker for her mother, Judy (Ron) Exline; grandchildren, Jeff Wells and John Wells; and several great grandchildren survive.
Virginia loved to sing Christian music; she played the guitar and piano. When she was younger she had a country band. Virginia was an awesome mother to her children and a hard worker.
The funeral service for Virginia will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January January 22, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Carnes officiating. Her burial will follow in Swan Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Her pallbearers will be John Wells, Mitchell Waugh, Bubby Martin, Terry Stapleton, Nick Stapleton, and David Allan Stapleton.
