Virginia M. Taylor

Virginia M. Taylor, 95, of Gallipolis, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Holzer Senior Care Center. She was born September 20, 1919 in Cheshire, daughter of the late David Sr. and Mamie Fraser Matthews. Virginia was married to Fred J. Taylor on April 5, 1941 in Gallipolis, Ohio and he survives her. She was a retired LPN in 1982 from Carbon Hospital in Price, Utah. She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of Addison Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Fred J. Taylor of Gallipolis; a son, Robert R. (Barbara) Taylor of Gallipolis; four grandchildren, Rusty Taylor, Lori Clifton, Lisa Gilbert, Jeff Taylor; two great grandchildren, Jakob Gilbert and Bryce Clifton. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by six brothers, Ross, Wayne, Merlin, Stanley, Carroll and David Matthews and a sister Winifred Ridenour. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Barcus officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
