Virginia May "Boots" Wright

Virginia May "Boots" Wright, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017, at the age of 93. She was born on May 29, 1924, to the late Frank and Thelma Goddard Persinger. She grew up in Gallipolis with sisters Frances and Mary and brothers Harold, Gerald, and Bill, who all preceded her in death. In 1942, Ginny married Edward E. Wright, her husband of 55 years until his death in 1997. She moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2001 to be closer to her daughter. Ginny worked many years as a legal secretary for John E. Halliday. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and volunteered for the American Red Cross, Holzer Medical Center, and Worthington Thrift Shop. She loved to travel but her favorite place was in the kitchen making the best pies and other family favorite desserts. Survivors include her daughter, Shelley (Ralph) Graham; three grandchildren, Jess (Robert) Sayre, Jennica (Steven) Lambert, and Logan Strong; and three great-grandchildren, Margo, Abel, and Althea Sayre. A celebration of her life will take place Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Marc Sarrett officiating at the Willis Funeral Home Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Reynolds Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215 or a charity of your choice.
