Wanda Virginia Butcher, 90 of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the Holzer Medical Center ER . She was born on October 11, 1925 in Preston Co., WV, daughter of the late Arthur and Vernie Henline Ridenour. She was married to Bernard H. Butcher and he survives her. Wanda was a retired school teacher, and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Ladies Auxiliary of The Gideons International , and a retired member of the WV Teachers Association, she was a graduate of Fairmont State College. Surviving are her husband, Bernard H. Butcher of Gallipolis, step-children, Kandyse (John) Nuce of Gallipolis, Linda (Mike) Betz of Belpre, OH., and Danny (Kathy) Butcher of Bidwell. Grandchildren: Karrissa (Danny) Martyn, Johnny (Diana) Nuce, Alyssa C (Ernest) Betz-Acosta, Ryan (Tiffany Ann) Butcher, and Tiffany (Tyler) Duncan. 4 great-grandchildren, and 4 nieces that she adored, sister-in-law: Pauline Ridenour of Clarksburg, WV Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Wilda Davis and a brother William Ridenour. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Gallipolis, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the Willis Funeral Home on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 6 until 8 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations can be made to The Gideons International, or the Grace United Methodist Church.
