William "Bill" Boyd Jones

William Boyd “Bill” Jones, 71, of Vinton, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at his residence. Born on July 19, 1947 in West Virginia, Bill was the son of the late Boyd Jones and Helen McKinney Haskett. Bill retired from the Gallia County Highway Department. He loved coon hunting, horses, hunting, fishing, and his grandkids. Bill also enjoyed working on the farm. Bill is survived by his companion of twenty-three years, Carol Gerard of Vinton; daughters, B.J. (Chad) Johnson of Gallipolis, Michelle (Brad) Caudill of Vinton, and Heather (Ben) Schrock of Vinton; grandchildren, Morgan, Hannah, and Lynzie Johnson, Colton, Aubrie, and Brayden Caudill, and Karlie, Chloey, and Weston Schrock; three sisters; and lifelong friend, James “Dick” Shriver of Bidwell. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, Sidney Jones in 1988. The funeral service for Bill will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Mollohan officiating. Burial will follow in Victory Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
