William T. Mitchell

William T. “Tom” Mitchell, 76, of Bidwell, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at his residence. He was born on June 21, 1929 in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Ervin and Golda Mae George Mitchell. Tom was married to Margaret L. Cochran Mitchell and she preceded him in death on August 3, 2005. He was a retired union carpenter with the Point Pleasant local. He was a U. S. Army veteran. Surviving are two daughters, Mona Durst of Bidwell and Sonja James Todd of Columbus, Ohio and a son, Thomas Dwayne Mitchell of Bidwell; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five brothers, Robert Ann Mitchell, James Anna Mitchell, and Leroy Mitchell, all of Bidwell, Earl Mitchell of Pataskala, Ohio and Keith Mitchell of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret L. Mitchell, a brother, James Mitchell and three sisters, Lyvonia George, Elizabeth Crane and Monica Oberkonz. Services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Morgan Center Holiness Church with Rev. Ted Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. A military flag presentation will be made at the graveside by volunteers of area veterans lodges. Pallbearers will be Daron Mitchell, Mike Lowther, Little Daron, Steve Durham, Moose, Danny Woods, Paul Gilman and Derek Durst. Arrangements are under the direction of the Willis Funeral Home.
