Tom Wheeler

Tom Wheeler, 60, of Gallipolis, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. He was born October 10, 1955 in Gallipolis son of the late Harry and Hazel Wheeler. Tom was a long time business owner and operator of the Colony Theatre and Kanauga Drive In. He brought numerous outdoor concerts to the Kanauga Drive In for the enjoyment of the community. The legendary Merle Haggard, Trace Adkins and Charlie Daniels Band all performed in front of the big screen. Tom is survived by three sons, Jason Wheeler of Canal Winchester, OH; Clifton (Kalena) Wheeler of Louisville, OH; Jacob Wheeler of Gallipolis, OH; one brother, Fred (Margi) Wheeler of Gallipolis; two grandchildren, Makenzie and Collin Wheeler; one niece, Lindsey (Patrick) Karnes of Canal Winchester; and Dianne Wheeler of Gallipolis; and numerous cousins. Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
